The drawing competition aims to encourage the public to promote social inclusion through creativity and arts, and to enhance the awareness of inclusion and diversity. Participants are required to express their understanding of inclusion, empathy and People of Differences (PoDs)* through their artwork on the theme of “Dialogue Experience Fostering Diverse Dialogue for 15 Years.” Dialogue Experience expects participants will convey a positive message of inclusion in their artwork, and it would be a bonus if their works reflect our achievements of empowering PoDs over the past 15 years.
* “People of Differences” means People with disabilities such as the blind, the deaf etc. All of them have different abilities or talent, we build a platform for them to showcase their abilities or talent.
Competition Groups
1. Children (4-9 years old)
2. Youth (10-17 years old)
3. Open (18 years old or above)
All participants will receive an E-certificate of participation and a 10% off discount coupon for “Dialogue in the Dark” tour. The winning entries in each group will be exhibited at the Dialogue in the Dark Jockey Club Dialogue Experience Place (Dialogue Experience Place) and in the virtual Dialogue Experience Place Gallery on our official website.
Competition Formats
1. Children: Coloring
Participants are required to fill in coloring on the coloring sheet provided by the organizer and may add other creative elements. Parents can guide their children to think about how they can conduct inclusive communication or exchange with PoDs while creating the artwork. Participants in the Children Group MUST print the coloring paper in A4 size (29.7 x 42.0cm) or collect the drawing paper at Dialogue Experience Place. The artwork must be hand-drawn.
2. Youth & Open: Painting
Participants are required to download the drawing paper provided and freely interpret the theme of “Dialogue Experience Fostering Diverse Dialogue for 15 Years” expressing their understanding of social inclusion and PoDs. Participants of the Youth and the Open Group can submit either hand-drawn or digital artwork. For hand-drawn submissions, the drawing paper must be printed on A3 size (29.7 x 42.0cm), or you can pick up the drawing paper at Dialogue Experience Place. For digital artwork submission, please submit it together with the online application form.
Artwork Dimensions
Children:
The artwork must be A4 size (21.0 x 29.7 cm). Participants are required to download and print the designated drawing paper for the Children Group, or collect the drawing paper in person at the Dialogue Experience Place. Only hand-drawn submissions are allowed.
Youth & Open:
The artwork must be A3 size (29.7 x 42.0 cm). For hand-drawn submissions, participants are required to download and print the designated drawing paper for their group or collect it in person from Dialogue Experience Place. For digital artwork submission, participants are required to download the designated drawing paper in the group with the image size A3 (29.7 x 42.0 cm) in JPEG, PNG or PDF format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
Artwork Requirements
1. All entries must interpret and express the theme “Dialogue Experience Fostering Diverse Dialogue for 15 Years“
2. It is needed to be a graphic creation, the size should not exceed the paper dimensions.
3. Participants may use any paint mediums or material for creation, such as watercolor, colored pencils, crayons, paper collage, Braille, etc. Digital artwork is also accepted in the Youth and Open Group ONLY, but no artificial intelligence software is accepted to generate paintings.
4. Digital artwork is not accepted in the Children Group.
5. Each participant can ONLY submit one piece of artwork.
Application fee
Each participant is required to pay an application fee of HK$150. All Participants will receive an E-certificate of participation and a 10% off discount coupon for “Dialogue in the Dark” tour. The application fee will be used for administrative costs, and participants are also welcome to make additional donations to support the work of the Dialogue In The Dark (HK) Foundation in hiring and training PoDs.

*Please attach the payment proof to the application form or include a crossed cheque in the submission. The payment proof must clearly state the participant’s full name in English.

1. Fill in the online application form, upload the payment proof of the application fee and your digital artwork, which must be submitted in JPEG, PNG or PDF format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
2. Submit the application form and physical artwork in person. Submission address: Unit B, 7/F, D2 Place ONE, 9 Cheung Yee Street, Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon (Exit D2 Lai Chi Kok MTR Station)

Awards
Each Group will have a champion, a first runner-up, a second runner-up, a Most Inclusive Award, a Most Creative Award and 10 Merit Awards. Winners will receive a certificate and a prize.
Results Announcement
The results of the competition will be announced on 17 December 2024 on Dialogue in the Dark’s official Instagram, Facebook and official website. Winners will be notified by email and will be required to collect the certificate and prizes within 3 months.

Terms and Conditions
1. If participants successfully submitted the artwork and paod the application fee, participants would receive an E-certificate of participation and a 10% off discount coupon for “Dialogue in the Dark” tour via email after the announcement of the results.
2. All participants will receive a 10% off discount coupon for “Dialogue in the Dark” tour, which is ONLY valid for the“Dialogue in the Dark”tour at the Dialogue in the Dark Jockey Club Dialogue Experience Place. The coupon cannot be used in conjunction with other promotions, offers, or discounts. It is non-transferable, non-exchangeable for cash, and must be used within the validity period stated on the coupon.
3. All participants must submit their artwork and complete the payment before the deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.
4. The submitted artwork must be original and unpublished, and must not infringe on the copyright of others. If the artwork has participated in other competitions or infringes any copyright, it will not be accepted and the participant will be disqualified.
5. By submitting their artwork, participants agree that Dialogue In The Dark (HK) Foundation Limited reserves the right to edit, reproduce, archive, transmit, publish, promote, exhibit, and print the submitted works and related information without prior consent or payment. The Foundation also reserves the final right of decision on the use of the artworks.
6. All submitted artworks will be reviewed and must not contain any content related to pornography, violence, inappropriate ideologies, or commercial advertising.
7. The personal data provided by participants will only be used for competition-related communication and information distribution.
8. Application fees are non-refundable. All copyrights of the submitted artworks will belong to Dialogue In The Dark (HK) Foundation Limited.
9. Participants must ensure the accuracy of the personal data submitted. After registration is confirmed, any changes to the information will incur an administrative fee.
10. The competition results are final, as determined by Dialogue In The Dark (HK) Foundation Limited. Participants must accept and respect the results without objection.
11. Dialogue In The Dark (HK) Foundation Limited is not responsible for any damage or loss of physical artworks during the review process or in transit.
12. Dialogue In The Dark (HK) Foundation Limited reserves the right to amend the competition rules, terminate the competition, or disqualify participants without prior notice.
13. All participants must comply with the competition’s terms and conditions. By submitting the application form, participants confirm that they have understood and agreed to these terms and conditions.
